Hello, I'm
Get To Know More
I am currently a PhD student in Computer Science, advised by Fred Martin, focusing on developing software to introduce children to AI. I am also a student researcher at the AI-Caring Institute.
My PhD journey began with studying multi-armed bandits at the PeARL Lab, before I transitioned to pursuing my passion for educational technology in AI.
Prior to my PhD, I gained valuable experience at the ANM, the Broad Institute, and the Harvard Privacy Tools Project.
Outside of my professional interests, I enjoy cycling and hiking through nature. I’ve recently taken up running—mostly to chase after city feral cats, which I also enjoy caring for.

My Most Recent
I build Next Word Adventure, an interactive learning tool that showcase how n-gram model suggest the next word. Tested with 48 students in an after school program, students recognized that N-grams rely on statistical data and do not "understand" text in any cognitive sense, marking a significant shift in understanding.
I build AI Chef Trainer. The AI chef Trainer introduces children to the importance of data in ML, the software engaged students in a cyclical process of testing, contributing, retraining, and post-training testing. Tested with 52 students in an after school program. Students recognized the importance of data quantity and specificity.
Ask Me Anything is a topic-specific chatbot powered by the ChatGPT-3 engine, using the text-davinci-002 model. In deploying the ChatGPT API, it was crucial for the chatbot to stay on topic and tailor responses to the age of the students. Tested with 63 students, feedback and interactions revealed that the students not only trusted the AI but were also eager to test its knowledge with their own questions.
